Alenia Aeronautica ha inaugurato oggi, durante una cerimonia ufficiale che si è tenuta presso la base di Pisa, il primo simulatore di volo C-27J Full Flight dell’Aeronautica Militare (AM). Il simulatore, primo al mondo specificatamente progettato per l’addestramento degli equipaggi dell’aereo da trasporto tattico militare C-27J Spartan, è stato realizzato su precisi requisiti dell’Aeronautica Militare e grazie all’impiego di sistemi innovativi garantisce all’equipaggio in addestramento il più alto grado di realismo.
Il C-27J AM Full Flight Simulator è un sistema all’avanguardia per attività di addestramento basico ed avanzato degli equipaggi a costi operativi molto competitivi rispetto al velivolo reale, complementare alle attività in volo senza alcuna rinuncia in termini di training value.
Il simulatore consiste in una replica fedele del cockpit del C-27J dell’Aeronautica Militare integrato con apparati che simulano con precisione le caratteristiche aeromeccaniche, prestazionali e avioniche del velivolo, il tutto inserito in un ambiente virtuale che riproduce l’ambiente esterno, meteorologico e tattico, fornendo ai piloti tutti gli stimoli – visuali, sonori, tattili e di accelerazione – che sperimentano durante un volo reale sullo Spartan.
Il C-27J AM Full Flight Simulator permette la riproduzione di tutte le operational standard procedures, l’esecuzione di missioni tattiche grazie alla generazione di attori virtuali amici e nemici, nonché la ricostruzione in ambiente sicuro della gamma completa di emergenze previste dal Manuale di Volo del velivolo e l’addestramento al volo con i visori notturni NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System). Altro elemento di assoluto rilievo è il sistema visual: la riproduzione dello scenario esterno si fonda su di un database geografico che comprende l’intero territorio italiano, realizzato tramite fotografie satellitari ad alta definizione che raggiungono in molte aree la risoluzione di 1 metro. Il database, processato da un software proprietario di Alenia Aeronautica, viene proiettato da sistemi ad alta definizione con un campo visivo di 180° orizzontali x 45° (+20°/-25°) verticali.
A completare l’illusione di essere realmente in volo, la riproduzione degli effetti delle accelerazioni lineari e angolari generate in correlazione alla condizione di volo virtuale proiettata sul sistema visual da un sistema motion in grado di far fluttuare nello spazio i quasi 10.000 kg di peso del dispositivo.
All’interno del C-27J AM Full Flight Simulator è presente anche la stazione istruttore, un banco di gestione dal quale si possono attivare le varie modalità di funzionamento del simulatore costituito da una serie di monitor touch screen montati su un quadro di comando dotato di controlli wireless su tablet-PC per consentire all’istruttore e agli osservatori massima flessibilità e confort durante l’esercitazione.
Il simulatore prevede poi un sistema di calcolo, il “cervello”, dove vengono eseguiti i modelli di simulazione del velivolo e tutti gli applicativi che implementano le varie funzionalità disponibili agli utenti. Questo apparato computerizzato, che dispone l’azione coordinata dei vari sistemi, è stato progettato da Alenia Aeronautica adottando un’architettura ad alta prestazione e di facile mantenimento.
Il simulatore C-27J AM offre anche la possibilità di eseguire sessioni di training connessi in rete con altri simulatori collocati nella stessa base o in altri siti. Con questa modalità, ciascun pilota nella cabina del proprio simulatore “vede” gli altri piloti partecipanti allo stesso esercizio come velivoli presenti nel medesimo spazio virtuale e può interagire con loro, comunicare via radio ed eseguire operazioni coordinate, come nella realtà.
