La Marina Olandese riceve il primo NH90 NFH

AgustaWestland, per conto di NH Industries, ha consegnato il primo elicottero NH90 NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter) alla Regia Marina Olandese presso le sue strutture di Vergiate. L’Olanda è così il primo paese a ricevere la versione navale dell’elicottero, destinata ad impieghi ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) e ASuW (Anti-Surface Warfare).
I Paesi Bassi hanno ordinato 20 NH90 (12 in versione NFH e 8 nella variante trasporto tattico navale – Transport NFH). Gli NH90 NFH equipaggeranno anche la marina francese, italiana, norvegese e belga, per un totale di 111 elicotteri ordinati.
L’NH90, elicottero della classe 9-10 tonnellate, è destinato a ringiovanire le flotte da trasporto terrestre e navale, apprestandosi a diventare l’elicottero tattico standard NATO.
L’NH90 è propulso da due motori General Electric/Fiat Avio GE T700/T6E1 (in alternativa due Rolls-Royce/Turbomeca RRTM322-01/9) e dispone di controlli di volo fly-by-wire; può trasportare 14 soldati equipaggiati e oltre al trasporto truppe può essere impiegato per missioni di controllo marittimo, evacuazione di feriti, supporto anfibio e SAR (Search And Rescue), oltre che per le missioni standard ASW e ASuW. Il peso e le dimensioni, la capacità di stazionamento e spostamento in sicurezza sul ponte di volo anche in condizioni meteo avverse, mediante gancio e binari guida, il sistema di ripiegamento automatico delle pale del rotore principale e della coda che ospita il rotore anticoppia, rende l’utilizzo dell’NH90 possibile anche a bordo di piccole fregate.
Il programma, gestito dalla NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency) in rappresentanza di Francia, Italia, Germania, Olanda, Portogallo, conta ordini complessivi per 529 esemplari, il che ne fà il più grande programma elicotteristico mai portato avanti in Europa. Equipaggerà le forze armate di 14 paesi, fra cui Italia, Francia, Germania, Olanda, Portogallo, Norvegia, Grecia, Spagna, Svezia, Finlandia, Belgio oltre che quelle di Oman, Australia e Nuova Zelanda sia nelle versioni terrestri (TTH) che navali (NFH). 44 NH90 sono già in servizio.
NH Industries è il consorzio industriale formato da AgustaWestland (32%), Eurocopter (62.5%) e Fokker Aerostructures (5.5%), incaricato della costruzione e gestione del programma assiema alla NAHEMA. In particolare AgustaWestland è responsabile della produzione della trasmissione principale, dell’albero motore di coda, sistema idraulico, sistema di controllo di volo automatico, computer di bordo, rampa e fusoliera posteriore, ed installazione del motore T700/6E1, nonchè per l’integrazione di tutti i sistemi di missione navali di tutte le varianti NFH.
La Marina Militare Italiana conta di ricevere il suo primo NH90 NFH, nella iniziale configurazione Step A, o MOC (Meaningful Operational Capability), a fine anno. In particolare la MMI ha ordinato 46 NH90 NFH e 10 in verione T-NFH.
